We offer our patients the full range of dermatology treatments in Christchurch. Dermatology is the treatment of skin diseases and conditions. In total, a dermatologist has a minimum of 13 years of training.
There are many different types of skin disease and it takes specialist experience and study to understand these. This is why dermatology trainees have at least five years of post graduate study to become a specialist dermatologist.
Dermatology includes all diseases of skin, hair and nails, and all aspects of skin surgery. It is based on a sound understanding of skin biopsy and surgical principles.
Dermatologists who specialise in skin surgery are known as dermatologic surgeons.
