The KTP Laser works when the yellow/green laser light is absorbed by blood vessels which become heated and precisely destroyed (selective photothermolysis). Because of this, damage to the skin is minimal and therefore scarring is very uncommon. The KTP laser can also treat other skin abnormalities eg: some birth marks and pigmented lesions.

KTP vascular treatment enhances Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and is preferred for more obvious individual red veins particularly around the nose, cheeks and chin. Laser light is delivered by a 1 or 2 mm light guide or laser scanner. This laser is also safe with minimal down time ,although some slight swelling and puffiness can be expected.
