Tattoo removal RevLite laser
ConBio’s RevLite laser is the gold standard for tattoo removal and has four wavelengths to remove all colours of ink. Some colours however, are more difficult to remove such as sky blue and green and may require additional treatments. Additional factors like the type of ink, age of the tattoo, location on the body also impact removal.
How many treatments does it require?
On average, tattoos take between 5 and 15 treatments, some tattoos can't be fully removed. Factors such as colour, type of ink, skin colour, location, and age of tattoo effect how many treatments you will need. When you come in for a complimentary consultation with our nurses we can look at your tattoo and review all of this with you.
If that Tattoo looks healed can I come in before six weeks?
It takes four weeks for the body to start breaking down the ink and even though the tattoo may appear healed, it is not. The laser breaks the ink down into smaller pieces and then the body has to get rid of it. This process takes 4-6 weeks so getting treated sooner than that will not make the tattoo remove any quicker and can also put you at risk for scarring.
What are the limitations after treatment?
Limit the amount of physical activity that you do and sun exposure for the first 24 hours. If the body gets too over heated it can cause the tattoo to blister. Showers can be taken but only if they are luke warm and use mild soap.
Can I have just a piece of that tattoo removed?
Yes, the laser is accurate and can remove unwanted parts of tattoos.
If I have permanent make-up (eyeliner, eyebrows). Can you remove it?
Yes we can remove these but there is a risk associated with it. Some cosmetic inks have metallic bases and when the laser hits it, it can turn black. Once this darkening occurs it can be irreversible. A test spot is always done first. We do not laser any tattoo ink to lips including lip liner.
Does the laser cause scarring?
Most of the time no but it can happen, 99% of avoiding scarring is being compliant with aftercare instructions.
Can I lighten the tattoo to have another one put on top?
Yes depending on the colours of the tattoo we recommend you have 3-5 treatments done to lighten it before having a cover up tattoo put on. You should wait six weeks between your last treatment and when you put on the new one.
