Cosmetic surgical excision is aimed at completely removing or improving a skin lesion. Many different options are available to a cosmetic dermatologist to achieve optimal results where a practical and aesthetic due is essential.

Skin Biopsy

Sometimes your dermatologist may wish to take a skin biopsy to get more information about your skin condition or lesion. This may assist with making correct diagnosis or deciding what the best treatment option is for you. Biopsies are undertaken with local anaesthetic.

PDT is used for superficial skin cancer, solar keratoses and for facial rejuvenation. Allumera® is a light-activated cream designed to improve the overall appearance of skin by acting as a photodynamic cosmetic agent.

UVB Phototherapy

UVB is short for ultraviolet B, a part of the light spectrum that has anti-inflammatory effects on your immune system and is useful for treating many conditions like psoriasis and eczema. At KM Surgical our phototherapy lamps are narrowband at 312nm for optimal safety.
